This post is nothing more than me wishing a Happy Release Day to Donna Tartt and her newest creation – The Goldfinch. Bookstore lines are sure to be filled with excited readers and the postal carriers will be getting back strain from delivering copies of this massive novel to waiting devotees. It has been an eleven year wait, but finally, Donna Tartt has returned.
If you happen to be in NYC, there is a new exhibit at the Frick Museum titled Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Hals: Masterpieces of Dutch Painting from the Mauritshuis. If you happen to be in the city this winter, don’t miss it. Part of the exhibit includes The Goldfinch by Carel Fabritius – the painting that is the centerpiece of Donna Tartt’s novel (as well as the inspiration for the cover).
