From The Booking Desk:

I first met Sherry Novinger Harris at one of the Chesapeake Chapter Sisters in Crime events. Later we talked at Malice Domestic. Since then, our paths have crossed fairly regularly and I am always delighted to get a chance to chat with this talented woman. Sherry writes a successful cozy mystery series revolving around garage sales, she blogs regularly over at Wicked Cozy Authors site, and attends almost all of the domestic crime fiction conventions. Let’s see what secrets she is going to share with us today.

Name: Sherry Harris
Location: Northern Virginia

This person from my personal life is such an inspiration:

This is going to sound so corny, but I have to go with my husband. He is my patron of the arts and I couldn’t write full time without his support. He cheers me on, passes out bookmarks, and has even set up book club visits. And yes he inspires me. One day he told me exactly that and I agreed. While he was congratulating himself I said, “You make me think about murder all the time.” Thankfully, my husband has a good sense of humor.

One of the people I admire most in the crime fiction community is:

It’s so hard to give a shout out to just one person when the crime fiction community is so supportive. But Julie Hennrikus popped right into my head when I read this question. I met Julie at Malice in 2005 when I was in the process of moving to Massachusetts. She told me I had to join Sisters in Crime and go to Crime Bake. I joined both the national organization and then the New England chapter. Both (along with the Chesapeake Chapter) have filled my life with so many wonderful people. I don’t think I would have been published without becoming a part of such an amazing organization. Julie is generous, always fighting for a cause, and an inspiration. She wears a lot of hats with her day job, love for theater, and her writing career, but she always has time to help someone else out.

STALKER ALERT! If this fictional character were real, they would likely need to get a restraining order against me:

Joe Pike from Robert Crais’s Elvis Cole books. He’s hot, he’s mysterious (those tattoos! those sunglasses!), and he’s loyal.

People are always surprised that I am a fan of this individual (singer, actor, or artist):

I’m failing at this – I’m not a very surprising person. I actually tried Googling who is the opposite of Colin Firth. That didn’t work out. But I am a big fan of action movies so I love Jason Statham (maybe not too surprising) and the early Jackie Chan movies that were dubbed to English.

My personal catch phase is (or should be):

Never give up!
