From the Booking Desk:

Danielle Bartlett is a publicist with Harpercollins/William Morrow. I first met her at one of the various Bouchercons and she has ensured that I receive the relevant review copies I need for BOLO Books ever since. She is truly a delightful person and seeing her smiling face at each Bouchercon and Malice Domestic is always a highlight of those weekends. Because I want this Composite Sketch feature to be inclusive of all areas of our crime fiction tribe, I was more than thrilled when she agreed to be a representative of the publicist’s work – but also because I know that she is a fan of our genre as a reader as well. Let’s see what she is going to reveal.

Name:  Danielle Bartlett
Location:  Morningside Drive

This person from my personal life is such an inspiration:

My mother is a huge inspiration to me. She was a single mom who moved away from family and friends for her work and raised me on her own. It was her copy of Mary Higgins Clark’s Where Are the Children that inspired my love of mysteries.

One of the people I admire most in the crime fiction community is:

Lawrence Block.  No explanation needed.

STALKER ALERT! If this fictional character were real, they would likely need to get a restraining order against me:

V.I. Warshawski – please can we be best friends? But I’m probably not cool enough to hang.

People are always surprised that I am a fan of this individual (singer, actor, or artist):

Sally Field. I just love Sally Field. I went to see her in this play called The Goat. It was super strange, but even that bizarre play couldn’t change my admiration for her.

My personal catch phrase is (or should be):

“C’est la vie” – I’ve usually found that if you let something go that you’ve been holding to too tightly, something better usually comes your way.
