From the Booking Desk:

One thing that we don’t have a shortage of in our crime fiction tribe is wonderful folks named Erin! Today, I would like to introduce you to Erin Alford. She and I have been friends on Facebook for a while now and one of the best parts of the recent Bouchercon is St. Petersburg was the chance to finally meet her in person. She was as delightful as I expected and just so very enthusiastic about books, authors, and the whole convention experience. So, I couldn’t resist inviting her here to BOLO Books to answer our weekly questions.

Name: Erin Alford
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.

This person from my personal life is such an inspiration:

My mom. She has gone through two incredibly tough losses and she didn’t let them break her. Also she always let me read anything and everything I wanted, and took me to the library and bookstore whenever I asked.

One of the people I admire most in the crime fiction community is:

Erin Mitchell. She is always generous with her time, and willing to answer any book related question I have. She has kindly embraced and welcomed me into this incredible crime fiction family.

STALKER ALERT! If this fictional character were real, they would likely need to get a restraining order against me:

Cornelia Read’s Madeline Dare. I want to be Maddie Dare when I grow up!! She is tough strong and comfortable with who she is. I admire the heck out of her.

People are always surprised that I am a fan of this individual (singer, actor, or artist):

Steve Earle, I grew up listening to him and know all the words to most of his songs from the 70s to early 2000s.

My personal catch phrase is (or should be):

I don’t have personal catch phrase. I like “Life’s too short to read bad books!”
