From the Booking Desk:

The crime fiction community is very active online and many of our friendships begin there before moving into the real world. Sara Weiss is one of the readers I met via Facebook – I know she is friends with many of you – and I am thrilled to feature her here for this weekly profile series.

While we haven’t met in person yet, it’s only a matter of time. But there is hardly a week that goes by without some interaction between us – not surprisingly often about books, authors, or the community-at-large. I hope that you all enjoy learning more about this mega-fan and occasional reviewer. Remember, if you see her around the cyber-realm (or the real world), be sure to say hello.

Name: Sara Weiss
Location: Dallas, Texas

This person from my personal life is such an inspiration:

My mom is really my inspiration. She didn’t work until I was in high school so she could be with me, yet by the time she retired she was the AVP at a multinational corporation.

One of the people I admire most in the crime fiction community is:

I really admire McKenna Jordan. I can imagine how hard it is to run your own business, especially one that is already an institution, and she is a talented, working musician. She risked bad publicity and possibly more to stand up for the whole crime fiction community when a popular author implied (more than implied, really) that genre fiction was lesser writing.

STALKER ALERT! If this fictional character were real, they would likely need to get a restraining order against me:

Probably Reacher, if I could find him.

People are always surprised that I am a fan of this individual (singer, actor, or artist):

Metallica. I am a head banger from way back. The 80’s hair bands are my first choice of music.

My personal catch phrase is (or should be):

Breathe, apparently I tell my students and friends that often.
