From the Booking Desk:

If you need a vacation and don’t have the time or money, just pick up a book from C. Michele Dorsey and off you will go to a beautiful island setting…just be prepared for the occasional dead body. C. Michele is one of those folks you will delight in seeing at conventions – she is equally good as a panel moderator or a panelists. Not to mention that she is co-chair of New England Crime Bake. I am delighted to have her join the ranks of the Composite Sketch profiles. Let’s see how she addresses our questions.

Name: C. Michele Dorsey
Location: Cape Cod, MA and St. John, USVI

This person from my personal life is such an inspiration:

My grandmother, Madeline, who lived to be 106 and enjoyed life to its fullest. While Nanna was not perfect, she was my rock and the reason I enjoy any semblance of sanity.  She was fun, forgiving, and taught me how to make a martini and to always take the scenic route.

One of the people I admire most in the crime fiction community is:

Hank Phillippi Ryan is the most generous, tireless, and classiest writer I know.  Her support for other writers and the entire writing community is remarkable and genuine.

STALKER ALERT! If this fictional character were real, they would likely need to get a restraining order against me:

This feels a little silly, but I’ve developed a crush on Neil Perry, the lawyer turned bartender and boyfriend of Sabrina Salter, the protagonist in my series set on St. John. How can I have a crush on a character I created?

People are always surprised that I am a fan of this individual (singer, actor, or artist):

Solo pianist, Dax Johnson, who died far too early.  His variation of Pachelbel’s Canon is my favorite. He plays it with a fourth pedal and plucks the piano strings.

My personal catch phrase is (or should be):

“A happy childhood is the worse preparation for life.”
