From the Booking Desk:

Lisa Unger is one of those people who seems simply too nice to write crime fiction, but write it she does. I have been a huge fan of her work for a very long time, with both Fragile and In The Blood ranking extremely high on my list of favorite crime fiction novels ever. If you saw my review of The Stranger Inside earlier this week, you know that this is another book I will be championing for years to come. If you ever get the chance to hear Lisa speak, either on a panel, or at a book launch, or even in the hallway, do not pass it up – she is fascinating to listen to and will no doubt have you laughing by the end. Check out her answers to our weekly questions and then head out to the bookstore to pick up some of her excellent work.

Name: Lisa Unger
Location: Tampa Bay Area, Florida

This person from my personal life is such an inspiration:

My friend Pam Iorio, the former mayor of Tampa and now the president and CEO of Big Brother Big Sisters of America. She is one of the smartest, kindest, most honest and caring people I know. She brings her stellar set of values to everything she does while remaining a loving, present, mother, wife, and friend. She was recently honored by People Magazine as one of “25 Women Changing the World” for her work with BBBSA. No one close to her was surprised by this.

One of the people I admire most in the crime fiction community is:

Erin Mitchell is a passionate reader and tireless champion of writers. She’s a true fan of the genre, a font of knowledge about the world of publishing and book marketing, and a steadfast supporter of the authors she loves. I am lucky to call her my friend.

STALKER ALERT! If this fictional character were real, they would likely need to get a restraining order against me:

Jon Snow. I don’t think I need to expound on this. I know when we first meet Jon Snow in the Martin novels, he’s only about fourteen. Still. He grows up.

People are always surprised that I am a fan of this individual (singer, actor, or artist):

Katy Perry. I love how she’s totally pop, but surprisingly deep. And, as a mom, I love her messages of accepting and honoring yourself, and fighting to tell your own story.

My personal catch phrase is (or should be):

Fall down seven times, stand up eight.
