This is the seventh post for this feature here at BOLO Books – The APB (All Points Bulletin).
As always, competition for these slots was tough. What books are generating that elusive buzz in the publishing industry? Which are books that I have been waiting for?
This feature works in conjunction with the weekly BOLO (Be On the Look Out) posts. Both are intended to highlight books that I am excited about in advance of their release date. In the case of the APB, the format is simply to present a gallery featuring the covers, the official release date of each book, and a brief explanation of why I am anticipating the title.
As we get closer to that release date, the BOLO post will give you more detailed information on each title, but in the meantime, feel free to research these titles on your own. And remember to pre-order!
Available April 6: Technically, this one is already available digitally, but I am using the paperback release date as an impetus to get to this book that has been on my list for quite some time.
Available April 11: Just by reading my reviews of Little Pretty Things and The Black Hour, it is pretty obvious that I would be unable to resist a new Lori Rader-Day book. I am happy to say that it exceeds all the lofty expectations I had.
Available May 2: Is there anyone not anticipating this one? Whether you were a fan of The Girl on the Train or not, it is impossible not to wonder what Hawkins is going to give readers as a follow-up.
Available May 9: Easily one of my favorite series. Both Burnt River and Walleye Junction were popular reviews here on the blog and I expect that this new one will follow suit.
Available May 9: A book needs nothing more than the name Kristi Belcamino on the cover to instantly pique my interest – but with this one being her Young Adult debut, it’s doubly exciting.
Available May 23: This stand-alone from Denise Mina as been a while coming, but early buzz is promising that it is more than worth the wait. And oh, what a cover!
Available June 6: I read this one late last year and it will certainly be one of my favorite novels of the year. Erin Kelly is a master at writing unexpected twists – check out The Burning Air if you haven’t already – and this one follows that trend. I still think about how cleverly this one is constructed.
Available June 6: I have long felt that Hallie Ephron is one of the master’s of the genre. There Was an Old Woman and Night Night, Sleep Tight remains favorite books that I constantly recommend. I fully expect that this one will be excellent as well.
Available June 13: One of the most anticipated debuts of the year, early buzz on this one quickly went from a few bees to a whole swarm. Both the US and UK covers are intriguing and the family relationship at the core of the book is like catnip for domestic suspense fans.
Available June 27: Serial killer novels are nothing new, but Gardiner is so good at infusing her stories with heart that it is hard not to anticipate what new spins she can bring to this common trope.
