From the Booking Desk:

My first memory of Alice Loweecey is seeing her from a distance at one of the many conventions I have been to and thinking “who is that quirky woman in the fabulous fascinator.” Honestly, still when I see her, I think that – but fortunately now I also talk with Alice and can appreciate the tiny hats as well as Alice’s killer sense of humor. A convention never feels complete without an Alice Loweecey sighting, so I am thrilled to welcome her here to BOLO Books for our Composite Sketch series. Hopefully the next time you see you, you too will walk up and introduce yourself.

Name: Alice Loweecey
Location: Western NY

This person from my personal life is such an inspiration:

My mom, my dad, and everyone who’s kicked cancer to the curb.

One of the people I admire most in the crime fiction community is:

Hank Phillippi Ryan. She has so much energy and writes such terrific books! Yet she always has time for questions and is always gracious. When I was a grass-green newbie she gave me advice and opportunities that opened doors for me exactly as though she’d known me for years. She is the definition of class.

STALKER ALERT! If this fictional character were real, they would likely need to get a restraining order against me:

Sebastian St. Cyr (the creation of C. S. Harris). I am a sucker for a wounded hero. St. Cyr is that plus charming and kind and kickass and completely fascinating. Every time a new book in the series comes out I drop everything and finish it in 24 hours or less.

Inspector Ian Rutledge (the creation of Charles Todd) is a close second by a whisker.

People are always surprised that I am a fan of this individual (singer, actor, or artist):

Roger Corman, director of some of the best shlock horror ever made. Apparently I don’t come across as a horror fan, but it’s my favorite genre of books and movies. Besides being spooky, shlock horror is always good for a laugh. Corman and the great Vincent Price made the best-ever horror costume epics: The Haunted Palace, The Masque of the Red Death, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Fall of the House of Usher. I love them all.

My personal catch phrase is (or should be):

Never give up! Never surrender! (Galaxy Quest)
