The BOLO Books Review of Rupture ran back when the book was first released by Orenda Books (out of the UK). It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Ragnar Jonasson’s work. He is writing novels that will stand the test of time and I encourage anyone who is a fan of traditional crime fiction to give his work a try. I just know you won’t be disappointed.

It can be difficult to pull off a novel that blends together so many disparate genres, but with Miraculum, Steph Post has done it. Fans of Erin Morganstern’s The Night Circus will find much to enjoy here, but Post’s novel is more firmly rooted in the world of the “pre-dust bowl” carny aesthetic. Her unique turns-of-phrase paint word-pictures that blossom to life in the reader’s mind, sweeping away the hours until the final pages are turned.
