World Book Night will once again be held on April 23, 2013. Applications for being a book giver as now open. Please be sure to read the directions carefully. Remember, they provide the book, you provide the recipients.
I participated as a book giver last year and found that it was a very rewarding experience. There is something about giving someone the gift of a book, especially a non-reader, that just makes you feel like you are making a difference. I gave out copies of Maya Angelou’s I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings and have had several people I gave books to tell me that they never thought a book could make them want to read like that book did.
Please consider becoming a book giver and share your love of the written word with others. Together, we can change the world.
