From The Booking Desk:
Pam Stack is the talent behind the Authors on the Air podcast – which is only a small part of the way she strives to spread the love of books, reading, writing, and the people involved in the literary community. As it happens, a collection of crime fiction reviewers (including myself) will be guests on her podcast on Wednesday, October 24th at 6pm. If you haven’t yet given Authors on the Air a listen, I think you will certainly enjoy your time spent with Pam and her multitude of guests. Let’s see how she tackles our weekly questionnaire.
Name: Pam Stack
Location: Fort Myers, FL
This person from my personal life is such an inspiration:
My Mom, Ruth Stack, who gave me all the best parts of her but had nothing to do with the worst.
One of the people I admire most in the crime fiction community is:
Sandra Brannan. She is one of the kindest most empathetic women I have ever met and I don’t believe that a negative comment has ever entered her head or left her mouth. She is the state of grace personified.
STALKER ALERT! If this fictional character were real, they would likely need to get a restraining order against me:
Robert Crais’s Joe Pike, although truthfully, he wouldn’t need a restraining order because he’s such a badass.
People are always surprised that I am a fan of this individual (singer, actor, or artist):
Trappist Monk Brother Thomas Merton. His writing is exceptional and life altering. His capacities to love and accept are nothing I’ve ever seen or read before.
My personal catch phrase is (or should be):
Be kind. Pay it forward.
I must admit I’m not up on my podcasts at all, but I will have to check this one out. Especially in a couple of weeks.
Love this! Pam is the best. I’ll definitely be listening on October 24th. Thanks for this fun composite sketch!
LOVE THIS! You both are the hardest-working people on the planet. xxx
What a great sketch of a person whose passion is an inspiration!
Your podcast is awesome, Pam–as are you! Thank you for all you do for the writing and mystery community!
Thanks for this recommendation, Kristopher. I’ll definitely check it out.
Pam is an absolute sweetheart! She is so passionate about supporting books and authors and spreading the word about them. She is inspiring to all of us who endeavor to share our love of reading. And, she is one of those wonderful inclusive people who recognizes others’ contributions and refuses to hurt anyone’s feelings. Love her!
